Mother's Day, or as we say in the Philippines, "Araw ng mga Ina”, is a special day when we come together to show our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the amazing women who have shaped our lives.

In the Philippines, this day is celebrated with joyful gatherings, heartfelt gestures, and acts of appreciation, showing the deep respect for motherhood rooted in the culture. But you know what? The beauty of Mother's Day is that it transcends cultures and borders. No matter where we're from or where we call home, mothers and mother figures hold a cherished and irreplaceable place in our hearts.

So, let's make this Mother's Day Philippines extra special! It's time to shower our moms with the love they truly deserve. And for us French folks residing in the beautiful Philippines, what could be a better way to express our love than by taking our moms on an incredible journey across the country we call home?

Mother's Day Philippines

Keep reading as we explore different destinations where you can treat your mom to an unforgettable adventure this upcoming Mother's Day in the Philippines. And as we dive into these stunning destinations, allow me, Nelson, to share some personal tips based on my own unforgettable experiences with my beloved mother.

Boracay: Beach Bliss and Beyond

Let's talk about the amazing Boracay! This world-famous island is known for its beautiful white sand beaches and clear blue waters. It's the perfect place to relax and have fun by the beach. You can enjoy exciting water sports, explore the vibrant nightlife, and stay in luxurious resorts.

Mother's Day Philippines with Family

When my family and I visited Boracay, we made a great choice by staying at the Mövenpick Resort and Spa in Station 0. It was perfect for us, especially because we had a baby under one year old. The resort had lovely rooms, a big swimming pool, and a delicious breakfast buffet. We all had an amazing time and felt comfortable throughout our stay.

Batangas: The Weekend Getaway

Let's not forget about Batangas, a popular weekend destination near Manila. It's known for its beautiful beaches and great dive sites. During our trip, we decided to stay for three days and two nights at an Airbnb rental. The place had an incredible view and direct access to the sea. To make our getaway even more special, John joined us on the trip. Batangas gave us the perfect combination of relaxation and adventure.

Tagaytay: A Cool Escape with Breathtaking Views

Let's head to Tagaytay, a hidden gem nestled in the highlands that offers a refreshing break from the city. This place is known for its stunning views of Taal Volcano and Taal Lake, making it the perfect destination for a quick getaway.

Nelson and Mom

During our visit, one thing that truly stood out was the food. My mom, especially, couldn't get enough of the delicious and authentic Filipino dishes available in Tagaytay City.

Siquijor: The Mystical Island

Known as the "Mystic Island," Siquijor is a small island province that offers a serene and mystical atmosphere. It's famous for its pristine beaches and enchanting waterfalls like Cambugahay Falls. When my mom visited for the first time in 2018, we had the pleasure of staying there, and it quickly became my favorite island in the Philippines. The trip was truly unforgettable, and the island's enchanting beauty left a lasting impression on both of us.

Palawan: Nature's Masterpiece

This place is famous for its breathtaking landscapes, pristine beaches, and colorful marine life. Many people consider Palawan as one of the most beautiful islands in the world. During our trip, we visited two incredible destinations: San Vicente and El Nido.

To reach San Vicente, we took a Sunlight Air flight from Manila, which was a great experience. We stayed overnight at Marianne Guest House, a simple but friendly place owned by Marivic. It was a nice and helpful accommodation.

Mother's Day Philippines | El Nido

In El Nido, we stayed at the affordable Golden Monkey Cottage, which had amazing views and served delicious food. We went on Tour A to explore stunning lagoons and beaches, although it was a bit crowded with other tourists. We also rented a motorcycle to discover hidden gems like Napcan Beach, Vanilla Beach, Duli Beach (perfect for surfing), and Dagmay Beach (a wild and preserved spot).

Bohol: Nature's Marvels and Cultural Delights

A place renowned for its iconic Chocolate Hills, unique tarsier primates, and beautiful coastline. This island offers a perfect blend of natural wonders and cultural experiences. In 2018, my mom and I had the pleasure of visiting Bohol for her first trip to the Philippines. She absolutely adored the Chocolate Hills, found the tarsiers incredibly adorable, savored the delicious local cuisine, and had an amazing time snorkeling. It was an experience that created lasting memories for both of us.

If you haven't planned anything yet, consider this your sign to take your mom on a trip she'll never forget. After all, it’s not every day we can do this! And if you're a French or foreigner living in the Philippines like me, and feeling hesitant about bringing your mom here, let me share a testimonial straight from my own mom:

Mother's Day Philippines | Bohol

I discovered the Philippines when I visited Nelson in 2018. It was my first time traveling in Asia. We visited the Island of Cebu and the Visayas and I immediately fell in love with the beautiful landscapes, the food, and the Filipinos, who are so welcoming!

This year, I came back to meet my granddaughter, Ellie, and had three fantastic weeks exploring Boracay, Palawan, and Batangas. Boracay offered the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure, while El Nido in Palawan was an incredible experience – I must say the highlight of my trip. The island tour was crowded but enjoyable. Nelson loves driving motorcycles so we enjoyed exploring the island and the beaches. Lio Beach and Duly Beach are my favorites.

It's now time for me to leave the Philippines. And I'm already looking forward to the next trip. I will miss the Philippines.
