Our first time at Club Punta Fuego was an unexpected incredible experience! We were able to assist to a baby turtles hatch on their main beach. It does not happen all the time but if you're lucky enough. You'll be invited to participate to their release.
More than that, the hotel is not too far from Manila. Nasugbu, Batangas is indeed one of the popular vacation destinations because it’s relatively close to the metro.
So, it was a perfect weekend gateway to enjoy and swim all day.
Yes that's us jumping in pool with the sea view!
Nasugbu is the biggest municipality in Batangas. Above all, it’s the untouched natural that attracts beach-lovers and mountain climbers alike. And on the flame-shaped peninsula at the northwest coast of Batangas is a first-class resort where you can live big — Club Punta Fuego.
It used to be exclusive to members only.
But just a few years ago, it opened its doors to non-member guests. It’s inspired by the Fisher Island in Miami, Florida. But Club Punta Fuego has an otherworldly charm that you won’t see anywhere else.
It fuses the beauty of the lush mountains and the sparkling sea of Nasugbu, Batangas.
Video at the end.
Club Punta Fuego is just a 2.5-hour drive away from Metro Manila. That’s why it’s popular among the city folks who seek an escape from the metro and want an instant dose of vitamin sea.
You can go through the Ternate-Nasugbu Highway or the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX). What you need to know is that the resort is inside an exclusive village.
It’s best to take a private car when going there so it’s less hassle. But if you are commuting, there’s a bus from Manila to Nasugbu, Batangas.
Then take a tricycle or jeepney that can drop you at the gate. Inform Club Punta Fuego if you’ll be commuting because they can pick you up from the gate.
Club Punta Fuego has 15 rooms and 33 casitas that boast a Spanish-Mediterranean architectural style. All accommodations are equipped with air-conditioning, television, coffee and tea-making facility, mini-bar, safety deposit box, bathroom amenities, and Wi-Fi access.
The Sunset Rooms are about 40 sqm, which we found spacious enough for us. What we appreciated about the room is the large window to let natural light in.
As well as the seating area for lounging or dining. The Standard Sunset Rooms have a few of the gardens. Meanwhile the Seaview Sunset Room has a furnished balcony where you can bask in the sun and have a magnificent view of the West Philippine Sea.
There’s also a Loft Sunset Room for larger families and groups. It has an upper floor for extra space to chill out. The casitas (60 sqm) are spacious enough to accommodate up to three adults.
They’re ideal for families and groups of friends, especially because you can book multiple casitas and open the adjoining doors to have one huge space if the entire squad is out for vacation!
The bathrooms at the casitas even have a little pocket garden. This is especially good for hanging damp swimsuits to dry.
The best part of any trip is, of course, the food!
What we loved about the restaurants at Club Punta Fuego is how they’re the perfect combo of beautiful ambiance, excellent service, flavorful food, and exquisite wine.
San Diego has a buffet spread for breakfast and dinner. Although they mainly served Filipino-Spanish food, they also had other Asian and Western cuisine such Italian, Chinese, and Indian dishes. Every meal at San Diego was pretty much like a trip all over the world.
The paella was one of their best dishes. While the crispy pata — always a crowd-pleaser — even had its own separate table! It was like the star of the buffet spread.
Il Jardineto was at the Lower Beach Club. We liked how Il Jardineto was near the pool and golf course. So after a dip in the pool or a few rounds of golf, it just hopped right into the restaurant for some snacks!
They served Italian dishes namely pizza, pasta, and other comfort food. Since it was an alfresco dining experience, we also got to admire the nice view of the pool and the mini golf area. Besides the view, Il Jardineto itself had a very unique charming ambiance. The lamps hanging on the tree branches, the picnic tables dressed with red and white checkered cloth, and the wooden chairs really gave a laid back feel to the restaurant.
But above all, the best thing about Il Jardineto was the chef’s impeccable dishes made of the finest and freshest ingredients. Buon cibo (good food)!
T&C was such a lovely place. The brick walls and artisan lighting gave it such a chill and classy feeling which we really liked about this lounge. And on top of that, they served great drinks, cakes, and food. They had wines, cocktails and beer, as well as the usual non-alcoholic drinks such as tea, coffee, smoothies, and fruit shakes.
It’s a great place to hang out with friends and have a relaxing chit chat over some drinks.
All the staff were indeed friendly and accommodating.
We appreciated how they were easily visible all over the Club and attentive to guests who needed assistance, especially during the check-in and check-out. Club Punta Fuego’s entire property is quite huge.
While we could’ve gone around by walking and taking time to enjoy the scenery and landscaping, we took the golf cart or the bicycle to get around the place. There were a lot of things to do at Club Punta Fuego.
Taking a walk would’ve absolutely drained all our energy!
What made the beach beautiful and unique was how it mixed the blues and the greens. The view was just the perfect blend of the blue ocean and the lush greens of the mountains.
It’s no surprise why guests keep coming back for the beach at Club Punta Fuego. And to enjoy the beach at its fullest, there were lots of water activities that Club Punta Fuego offers for the guests.
There’s the all-time favorite banana boat, paddle board, snorkeling, and jet ski, just to name a few. You can even rent a yacht that fits up to 15 people!
Club Punta Fuego also has swimming pools for those who aren’t fans of the sand and ocean. The Club has a stunning double infinity pool that perfectly blends into the ocean at the horizon. We got to admire the ocean view, have a relaxing swim, and even watch the sunset by just taking a dip in the pool.
There’s also a single infinity pool at the Upper Beach Club. It was more secluded, so it’s great for those who want a quiet and peaceful time. Meanwhile, another pool is located at the Lower Beach Club. It’s a free-form family pool just nearby Il Jardineto.
Of course any booze sesh isn’t complete without food, so T&C also offers Spanish-Mediterranean bar chow that perfectly complements their wines and cocktails.
The golf course is another highlight at Club Punta Fuego. It’s a nine-hole executive golf course with lush foliage and a stunning view of the crystal blue waters.
This is where the sky, land, and sea meet, and what’s better than having a few rounds of golf while that view is all around you?
There were a lot of other indoor activities to do at Club Punta Fuego if playing under the sun isn’t your thing. For instance there’s a tennis court, a squash court, pool tables, darts, and even a mini theater that has daily film screenings.
Aside from the food and the beach, the spa is another thing we were looking forward to. And the Ylang-Ylang Spa didn’t disappoint!
They had different special treatments for the body, face, or feet, and even detoxifying rituals for your body and spirit. But we tried the Punta Fuego Signature Massage, which is one of their best services.
It was a 75-minute full body massage with a deluxe foot treatment that includes soak, scrub, and massage. We were absolutely relaxed and pampered after a full day of activities.
