Ask a citin where theyâll go for a quick getaway, and theyâll probably say Tagaytay. This city is popular for its cool climate, greenery, and, of course, the splendid view of the Taal volcano. And most importantly, Tagaytay is only an hour and thirty minutes away from the metro.
So itâs no surprise why Tagaytay is the go-to destination for a lot of people seeking a quick and spontaneous adventure. Tagaytay isnât just one of those places where youâd want to come and go. Youâd also want to savor and appreciate the relaxing atmosphere this city has to offer.
Tagaytay could get crowded and busy sometimes. But Anya Resort is a hidden gem tucked away from all the noise and chaos. The last time, we went to Anya Resort was last year during the Covid19 outbreak. All the sanitary protocols were respected.
So, we were very grateful for our stay as we were able to escape Manila and relax from our stress during that tough year.
Anya Resort sits on the scenic Buenavista Hills Road. Itâs sandwiched Santa Rosa-Tagaytay road and Emilio Aguinaldo Highway, two of the busiest roads in Tagaytay. But Anya Resortâs sprawling 7.2 hectares was enough space to build a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle.
What's great about Anya Resortâs location, however, is its accessibility to other attractions in Tagaytay. The popular Picnic Grove, Peopleâs Park in the Sky, and Taal Lake are just a few kilometers away from Anyra Resort.
But when we set foot in the resort, the relaxing atmosphere and scenery made us forget about all the other places we can go.
Anya Resort has 78 suites distributed in 11 guest villas. The accommodations are absolutely relaxing! The decor and the softly-lit lamps made us feel cozy the instant we walked in. But what we appreciated was how spacious the rooms were.
The washroom was also roomy. It had complete amenities, two sinks, a well-lit vanity, a rain shower, and even a bathtub! It was an accommodation fit for royalties.
The Junior Twin (where we stayed) and Junior King suites are about 47-69 sqm big. It even had a balcony overlooking the manicured garden and swimming pool. But of course the view also depends where your room is located. You could have a view of the rich plantation nearby or the gorgeous villas across.
The Veranda Suite is even more grand, being 93-107 sqm big. Itâs an apartment-style accommodation with a living room. Meanwhile the Garden Suite is the most opulent, with a size of 102-128 sqm. Their bigger balconies gives you a wider view of Tagaytayâs greenery.
Rooms can fit 2-3 persons. But with the roomy washrooms, you might even get to sneak in a 4th person to sleep in the bathtub (just kidding)! Theyâre great for couples and small families. However, those with tiny tots who love to run around may want to stay in the wider Veranda or Garden Suites.
All accommodations have an HD LED TV with full international channel listings and a standard coffee and tea-making facility. The apartment-style rooms have a kitchenette and refrigerator. While minibar was available at the Junior Suite.
Our room had a direct view on the main pool and it was very pleasant!
We were also impressed by the quality of the furniture in the room and how the bed mattresses were comfortable.
Since Anya Resortâs land is quite big and itâs a bit hidden within, youâll need to take your car if you want to try some of the well-known restaurants in Tagaytay. But you donât really have to get out just for meals. Anya Resort has two restaurants, and all of them serve heavenly meals.
Samira is the semi-fine dining restaurant near the swimming pool that serves hearty Mediterranean dishes. Vacations â especially at Anya Resort â is all about chilling and relaxing. We know the feeling of wanting to just wear pajamas all day when youâre on vacation. But you canât wear them at the Samira restaurant!
We were encouraged to wear relaxed and semi-formal attire. But it was no problem because eating fine food at a fine restaurant was awesome.
You canât leave Tagaytay without eating Bulalo.
Itâs a Filipino soup dish made of beef shanks and bone marrow, plus leafy vegetables, corn on a cob, garlic, ginger, and fish sauce. So obviously, we had to try Anya Bulalo. It is a very famous place to get one, our friend actually took as a take away for her family in Manila.
The warm soup, tender meat, and crunchy vegetables made it the perfect comfort food along with the cool weather.
It was a genius idea to be put up near the pool. The menu was perfect after we were done soaking up. Anila had mouthwatering snacks such as sandwiches, salads, and artisan pizza freshly baked in their brick oven. One of their well-loved pizzas was the Tartufo Brick Oven Pizza. It had white sauce, mozzarella cheese, topped with egg, and finished off with a drizzle of truffle oil.
We also had our breakfast at Anila Cafe. What we loved about it was the selection of breakfast food.
Honestly, the breakfast was amazing! You can also have a magnificent view if you're on the balcony. There were antipastos such as soup, cold cuts, finger food, and a salad station.
Meanwhile, the main course station featured continental and local meat dishes like bacon, sausages, and tocino. And on one end was the bread station that had butter rolls and mini croissants.
While another station had cereals and eggs. Youâd absolutely have to forget your diet when going on a vacation at Anya Resort!
Anya Resort is among the Small Luxury Hotels of the World. So we expected to experience luxury at its finest. And Anya Resort didnât disappoint. In fact, their hospitality started even before weâve set foot at Tagaytay!
We received an email for the Anya Experience Assistant. We indicated our arrival time, our scent of choice for the room, our dining choices, and if weâd like to avail of their unpacking service on the Experience Assistant menu.
That right there is luxe hospitality and customer service.
The ride going to the resort was already relaxing itself. Bamboo were all lined up and just chilling and swaying along with the wind along the road leading to the resort gate.
We even rolled down our window to catch the cool breeze. An Anya Experience Assistant greeted us when we arrived.
They gave us cold towels, a refreshing glass of Anisha, and some buchi for snacks. The Anisha was a calamansi and pineapple drink sweetened with honey, and finished off with mint leaves.
Anya Resort has a beautiful swimming pool. We probably spent all our afternoon there. We thought Tagaytay was cold but we were lucky to have a good weather so it was definitely fine. So you can surely swim despite the cool weather.
There was also a charming library that had lots of books, comfy couches, and even board games.
Anya Resort also had a well-equipped gym for those whoâd like to burn the calories gained at the restaurants. And surely a vacation is never complete without a relaxing massage. We pampered ourselves to a nice massage by the Niyama Wellness Center at the comfort of our own room.
